Title Sequence

Hey!

Welcome back to my blog! Here, I will discuss my group's choices and the thought process behind our title sequence for our opening scene.

This is the information from our title sequence:

Title: Mind the Gaps

Distribution Company: JoMoney Pictures

Production Company: A Jahanshala Film

Actors: Angela Rodriguez, Johansen Rey

Music: Pixabay

Written: Angela Rodriguez

Produced: Jamil Jama

Directed: Angela Rodriguez

Editing: Alexander Maguire

Story: Angela Rodriguez, Alexander Maguire, Johansen Rey, Jamil Jama

Firstly, we chose the title "Mind the Gaps" because it's representative of the plot holes and mental gaps of the protagonist, Angelina. These gaps and misunderstandings are evident through the glitches portrayed in the opening scene, which were added during editing. Some other titles that were suggested were something more straightforward, like "The Patient", and something more complex, like "Dichotomy", because of the separation portrayed between the patient and therapist.

The font we chose was "Montserrat-Light" because of its simplicity. We felt like the thin lines of the font added a sense of clinical and sterile quality to the film. This is logical since our opening scene takes place in a therapist's office.

Additionally, we chose the color red for the actual title because it represents the hidden danger of instability in the protagonist and simultaneously lets the audience know they should be wary of her reliability when narrating flashbacks of her daily routine. The rest of the title sequence, including the production company and actors' names, is in black. This is to keep a simple yet pronounced feature. Black is easy to see on our bright white backgrounds and is easy on the eyes so as to not take away from any important occurrences in the opening scene.
